Humbleton Rear Extension
Case Study: Humbleton Rear Extension Project
Location: Humbleton
Scope: Design and Build
Our team was engaged to design and build a rear extension for a detached home in Humbleton. The client sought a transformation that would open up the back of the house, maximising the ground floor’s functionality and enhancing views over the spacious garden. The brief called for a design that would make the best use of each ground-floor room while ensuring a harmonious flow throughout.
We approached the project by reconfiguring and optimising the existing spaces. This included adding a new office facing the drive, ideal for remote work and day-to-day tasks. Adjacent to this, we designed a dedicated dining area, a cosy snug, and an open-plan kitchen with large windows that frame the garden view, bringing natural light and an indoor-outdoor connection to the space.
Our design process involved 2D plans and 3D visualisations to illustrate the reimagined layout for the client. This allowed them to visualize how each room would function and interact with the others. The final build achieved a modern, functional, and visually cohesive space that fulfilled the client’s requirements for both practicality and aesthetics, transforming the rear of the property into an inviting, versatile area for work, relaxation, and entertaining.
